the ‘earliest photos of amsterdam’ exhibition at the city archives will be opening this thursday in amsterdam, they have also placed enormous blow-ups around town at the exact spot where the old image was taken, which i think is a fabulous idea, i actually did this myself once around amsterdam a few years ago, the route starts with two images made in front and behind my house, it can also be seen online here (don’t switch to english as you’ll lose the link to the pop-up = ‘bekijk de wandeling online’)

our own ‘amsterdam things’ expo will also be opening on the same day in the basement, we are busy putting the whole thing together by hand ourselves (no budget so we got creative)

a real fake project: the ‘keg appartment’

a new, chunky book has just been released (designed by irma boom) documenting the enormous jungle of prizes and cultural festivals from the past year including work from all of the winners in an array of categories, more info here there is also an english language version…

this series of collage animations were made by designer oscar smeulders (whom i met this week) for a restaurant in the hague, the compositions are built using the specific ingredients being served in that month, nice… see more of his work here
