all of the finalists and winners of the 2009 dda awards (including my work for the ‘suikerdepot’) are currently on display in essen, germany at the ‘red dot’ headquarters, the dda office sent me some images of the show, here’s a brief impression…
sex rays
the belgian artist ‘wim delvoye’ has a taste for controversy like as his notorious ‘tattooed pigs’ and such like work, however this series of sex ray images is quite old but i hadn’t seen them before… they reduce sexual acts to something much more anatomical and clinical, but i find them funny
and the sky turned green…
some brash colours & vibrant ‘youth’ imagery from photographer bodo vitus i particularly like the BMX/skate series with coloured skies, looks easy to do, but not easy to do well and this works for me…
