it’s admittedly difficult to judge based on a few small jpgs, but these abc chairs score fairly low on two of the major factors i would use to consider whether a chair ‘works’ or not: firstly they don’t really look that good and i find it hard to believe that they are comfortable to sit on, but as i said that’s all based on a few small jpgs…

the designpolitie are one of the groups responsible for organising a new design event in amsterdam roughly a year from now, entitled ‘idea’… the event promises a series of lectures, presentations, exhibitions and much more, as a kick-off they are hosting a ‘pre-event’ in the coming month (7th of june) to explain the idea behind ‘idea’ and to get people involved
unfortunately i will not be able to attend the kick-off but will certainly be keeping my eyes open when any new information becomes available online… speakers for the kick-off include ‘reza abedini’, ‘thonik’ and architects ‘mvrdv’
i realised that it may not be entirely clear that ‘me studio’ has temporarily relocated to a slightly warmer and better tasting location for a while: a small villa on the coast of the beautiful island of sicily, before it gets too hot and too many people arrive…
this is also another reason the blog has become a bit quieter than usual, it transpires we are actually staying in a seaside property belonging to a quite famous italian documentary photographer, i’ll post about him later this week, it was a new name to me… so i’ll say ‘ciao for now’ the pasta is calling me :)
