new work from rineke dijkstra currently on show at the temporary stedelijk in amsterdam

…a group of schoolchildren are in a serious discussion regarding the meaning of picasso’s painting, however we do not see the painting (the weeping woman, 1937) itself. the children are encouraged to look carefully at this artwork for prolonged periods and then discuss it, and it’s amazing what they come up with…

invertual reality

window shopping

yesterday morning we put up a window display in a bookshop in town for the ‘façade’ book, using the plastic letters i made for the book, and a sheet of unused and untrimmed flyers

the result is a bit messy but somehow seems to fit the idea of what the book is about, the final advertising billboard in the project (by erik kessels & hans aarsman) is coincidentally still hanging, right across the road on the university building, when this one is taken down it will be cut up and made into covers for the book too

the books are being hand numbered in a series of 500 by artist and writer ‘dick tuinder’, if you would like a copy visit ‘athenaeum’ bookshop in the centre of town, a bargain at €15…
