it was matter of time i guess, before someone decided to take the mobile phone back to basics: amsterdam agency ‘john doe’ have launched the lo-tech, no frills john’s phone complete with big clunky buttons and paper address book hidden in the back, i feel a hype coming on…
back in the ussr
back in ’97 i quit my job and first started working for myself, i was soon invited to join the recently formed multi-media collective ‘cccp’ which was just getting going and we had our home in the fabulous old laboratory building on the ‘westergasfabriek’ lot in amsterdam (shown above), i had an amazing office on the first floor and it was a fun gig, internet was still a new phenomenon and ‘baby’ was still open for drinks…
the lab building has long been demolished and the original ‘cccp’ crew have spread their wings all over the place, if you were connected somehow or want to hear the old ‘tall’ stories join us for a big reunion party this friday, nearby the old location (at ‘openbare verlichting’ westergasterrein) this friday: 8 till late…
