recurring patterns

i seem to be in a bit of a geometric pattern phase at the moment and just came across this: the new ‘dries van noten’ collection for next year, he is too apparently… i’m not very knowledgable about fashion but a big fan of his stuff and find this really beautiful…

head case

i’ve just finished an A5 flyer for the ‘hoofdzaken’ project, here’s a sneak preview… although the exact style i’m trying to acheive isn’t quite ready yet, the imagery is a mix of computer generated and handmade type, more news soon

mangelinckx

a new name to me: belgian designer jonathan mangelinckx who specialises mostly in identities for record labels apparently

i really like, for example, his work for the ‘untold’ label… combining still-life photography and geometrical patterns; more work can be seen here

…there’s a whole range of car accidents, illnesses, and ages. The light blue room belonged to one of the eldest people, which I guess you can tell from the fact that it’s tidy and doesn’t have too much kid’s stuff, except from the pictures on the wall…

the ‘rooms project’ by miranda hutton features a series of rather ordinary childrens bedrooms as can be found all over the world, however it belies a rather darker subject all together as the rooms in question are no longer occupied they are the remenants of children who have died too soon, leaving devasstated parents and empty beds in their wake… (via vice)
