I spotted this piece of outdoor advertising in the centre of Amsterdam last sunday, the insurance company’s logo (RVS) features a person holding an umbrella and the new campaign is using this as a theme, this billboard has a (real) man mysteriously hanging from one foot off the wall all afternoon, waving, using an umbrella when it rained and calling people on his phone, it attracted a lot of attention and everyone was taking poor quality mobile phone pictures (just like me) smart idea…
the company went bankrupt years ago, the logo didn’t leave until this afternoon… bye bye megapool
afgelopen week stond me studio in het teken van de willem de kooning academie in rotterdam. daar hebben we een workshop gegeven aan 3de jaars studenten en een presentatie van ons werk. het thema van de workshopweek was: een politiek ontwerp en onze opdracht was maak een identiteit voor de partij van de creatieve klasse. me vond het erg leuk om les te geven en heeft er zelf ook nog wat van geleerd; ook wij zijn nooit te oud.
the top logo (designed by Szymon Skrzypczak from Poland) as reported last week won a european logo design competition (unbelievably!) for the 50th anniversary of the EU, the second was presented to us by a student at the ‘willem de kooning academy’ during a project about ‘design for politics’ last week… the third you may already be familiar with: old ideas never die, they just fade slowly…
