light ideas…

the national ballet have started experimenting with ‘guerilla marketing’ and last night i went along to see the first trial of an idea made by local ad agency ‘adk europe’ a projection installation with two films showing ‘romeo + julia’ on opposing walls each looking for each other, screened on buildings all around the city centre after dark… it was a bit trial and error and i still kind of wonder just how useful this sort of work is… i suppose it depends on how big the idea is and how cool the execution is of course, but it was a good start…

child of the great depression, mother of two, grandma of four, workaholic, retired graphic designer… one year shy of 80!

i came across some very exhaustive design archives on flickr this evening, the compilers’ profile seems pretty unbelievable, (the heading above is just a portion) but there are some great collections of historical design work, here even sorted by country

the profile can be read here… great stuff, there must be a book in there somewhere…

well, well

the poster above, i made several months back for the dutch national ballet ‘romeo + julia’ someone pointed out today that another dance company introdans have a production running now called ‘hartstocht’ (passion) shot by erwin olaf (who i also regularly work with) see erwin’s image below, a very striking coincidence… or maybe not considering the subject matter is exactly the same…
