interesting piece in the ‘volkskrant’ yesterday about a new exhibition on icon design, which has just started in the centraal museum in utrecht, sounds like it’s worth a visit… the icons designed by ‘otto neurath’ in the 1930’s are also included which are one of the better sets ever designed in my opinion
i got hold of a copy of a new book made by a german design combo, titled ‘super ink’ it’s basically a kind of colour sampler for fluorescent colour inks and has been produced entirely using those inks, which look fabulous all combined together in transparant layers
according to pitchfork that prince one is a real howler…
despite the full schedule, i attended the shoot for the new ballet production ‘on the move’ today…which i am making with photographer ‘narayana’ our idea is a kind of shadow play using reflections, shadows and mirrored images, the shoot went very well and we got to work with a new ballerina ‘viktorya’ from russia, who looked great and was very disciplined on the set
the separate images look fabulous, now the real work begins as we have to make a multiple comp using three of four separate images, looking forward to making this one very much
the only problem was the guy he used as a ‘stand-in’ for the lighting set-up, he looked a bit dodgy and was very ugly, as you can see…
