i came across this postcard which i made several years ago as a 2001 new year’s card for the dutch post office, it was as part of a christmas ad campaign, including print and TV ads, the campaign was made by me and my old copywriter and friend ‘eric wie’
peter saville’s sticker from last year (see above) has become reality in amsterdam… in their crusade to put a stop to the criminal underworld amsterdam city council have closed down a large number of brothels in the red light district and they are being temporarily occupied by artists, who are using the rooms as studio space, interesting idea, i’ll pop down and have a look around next week, after all window shopping doesn’t cost anything, does it?

interesting interview of Thom Yorke by David Byrne in Wired magazine (oh… i thought ‘wired’ was long dead…) which my mate ‘thijs’ mailed me this week… the fact that they’ve gained financially is in itself very interesting… the fact that they’ve shown that there are many more ways to approach making (and distributing) creativity is, of course, ultimately much more interesting…
