if like me, you’re a british ‘fourtysomething’ then these two tv commercials from the early eighties may cause a pang of nostalgia… the first one is a goos example of how things have moved on in the last thirty years, in terms of animation and ‘tweeness’, the second one is still an absolute classic and a very good example of a strong idea that doesn’t date…

now showing at the blow up gallery, the website is awful, so i hope the show is good, i haven’t seen it personally (images shown: krijn van noordwijk and sofie knijff)
i don’t really like flyer designs in general, but this is worth a mention… the left-hand image was made by a young chap called ‘reuben rosh’ for some party in israel, the right hand image was made by a shameless copy artist in amsterdam, who took that design, brushed the type off and stuck his own type on, unbelievable… you have to be very untalented and clueless to try that…
