a mental note to self

i just listened to the live radio interview i did yesterday for a local radio station, trying to explain what a poster looks like over the radio and generally bumbling like an idiot, graphic designer bob gill once said: ‘good design can be described over the telephone’… i won’t be doing that again in a hurry

one hundred plus

ever wondered what somebody who has lived in three centuries looks like? so did mark story, this is what the woman on the right has experienced:

114 Year 226 day-old
African American woman ?
the 3rd oldest living person in the world,
and 2nd oldest living woman in the USA.

Both of her parents were slaves.

The family ate the food they grew.
She never watched her diet
and was never heavy.

She never smoked or drank,
and was 100 years old when
she first saw a doctor.

She was married to her second husband
for 72 years and has
3 children,
5 grandchildren,
46 great-grandchildren,
95 great-great-grandchildren,
and 38 great-great-great-grandchildren.

thanks to ‘pepijn’ for the tip

micro-synth

microsoft have finally gone public with their amazing photosynth software, if you try to install on a mac, the site says:

Unfortunately, we’re not cool enough to run on your OS yet. We really wish we had a version of Photosynth that worked cross platform, but for now it only runs on Windows.

Trust us, as soon as we have a Mac version ready, it will be up and available on our site.

which sounds a bit silly but i’m curious to try it out on my ‘cool’ mac, i must admit

doodles

it’s been a very busy week (no month, no year..) and if that weren’t enough the one-off editorial team for the ‘adformatie’ 35 years jubileum magazine (which i’m part of) is busy putting a whole magazine together at the moment, it’s a hell of a lot of work but it’s looking great…

the launch is on the 18th of september and i believe they are throwing a party to launch it the evening before, somewhere in town…
