ring, ring, ring

here are three of my favourite ring designs from this year: the first ‘handscape’ from zelda which actually became my wedding ring this september… the second one ‘ring a day’ is quite similar to the first with a series of laser cut rings that can be combined together, very nice… and the ‘lego ring’ from edition mathea (see below) which i gave to someone special for christmas…

more paper sculpture

some unusual 3d modelling converted back into analogue imagery with these 3d sculpted photos from bert simons it reminds me of a japanese artist whom i saw years ago who had a similar technique (if slightly less ‘hi-tech’ than these ones) but his name now escapes me

paper architecture

talking of cutting paper and taking a long time (see previous post): at last! here’s the birth card for my new daughter ‘keet’ which is finally ready and has been posted this week (sorry if i forgot you, we had a long list)

the card is printed on heavy white stock in two pantone colours and the pop-up letters plus fold lines were die-cut by a special laser using tiny perforation dots and then hand folded (by me)

femke and i are very pleased with this one… the reactions i’ve had so far have been very positive

individually hand-cut

the oddly named cutty spot offers a series of hand-made posters in a series of one, only the vowels are actually ready to purchase, the rest can be ordered… that must take a while to make

road works

local agency ‘heavy traffic’ have recently restyled their identity using a great series of photographs of ‘roads & bridges’ made by raymond waltjen i’m a big fan of raymond’s work and we recently made a book together (see ‘me work’) shame about the bright yellow logo though, the images were enough without the rather ungainly logo if you ask me…
