the campaign for the ‘amsterdam book festival’ made by ‘christian borstlap’ from kessels kramer is hanging around amsterdam again at the moment, i love these posters because they are so un-poster like, it takes a while to catch what’s going on with these designs, which makes a nice change from the usual ‘sudden impact’ technique most of us use…

i have, once again, been invited to take part in the ‘fanclub’ student project from the art school in utrecht this year, the student who chose me ‘liset van der graaf’ came and interviewed me last friday and she has chosen my ballet season poster (made earlier this year) as her favourite design

liset suprised me by making a whole analysis of the eye movements and dynamics in the image, which she intends to use as the basic idea behind her own tribute design, i’m looking forward to seeing the results in may… good luck liset!

last friday i attended the opening of a photo exhibition in amsterdam, a pretty unexciting series of nude images made by german photographer ‘martin schreiber’ quite a while before madonne hit the big time (1979) if you would like to see madonna’s bits for yourself you have until late may, my advice? don’t rush…
