why…you pesky wabbit
having a kid, seems to be making me nostalgic (ok maybe that’s not the reason, i just always have been a nostalgia softie) but one of the old ‘things’ i have rediscovered recently are the fabulous old ‘merrie melodies’ and ‘looney tunes’ cartoons from the 30’s 40′ and 50’s by tex avery, particularily the ones with the hunter ‘elmer fudd’ and the early incarnation of what later became ‘bugs bunny’) do a search on you tube to see what i mean…
of course what i noticed the most was the use of typography and the fabulous range of hand drawn fonts used throughout (as shown here) i even found one photographic title card (above) where the type had been cut out of carrots… how very ‘modern’
