eclectic 3.0

It?s amazing how many beautiful places you?ll come across when you go exploring without any real direction (luckily my iPhone kept me from getting lost). I knew the general areas that I wanted to visit ? very touristy areas. But when I ventured off the beaten paths it was as if a whole different world opened up. Some places seemed like the surface of Mars and I was the only person in a 50 mile radius.

some interesting stop-motion work using only camera stills (and the ’tilt-shift’) from ross ching (you may already know his ‘death cab for cutie’ video)

flying rats

third year design student ‘tamara pruis’ contacted me this week, she has some interesting projects on her website, like the biodegradable cigarette pack that gives something back to nature, with ‘forget-me-not seeds’ embedded in the cardboard, very nice… and her little stop-motion film which addresses the issue of disease being spread in large cities by pigeons

tamara is looking for an internship later this year and would be interested to hear from you…

the internet generation

my beautiful little girl went online for the first time this week and promptly discovered a whole new application for computer keyboards, it turns out they are also edible…

alice sommer

young design student ‘alice sommer’ came to visit yesterday, she has some really nice projects like these t-shirts and her books (kind of difficult to explain without seeing them)…

"…set of 3 t-shirts that look at what you pay for when you buy a product. Three different brands were researched and from each, the most basic product was bought ? a man’s t-shirt. We looked at different factors in selling a t-shirt (the design phase, the production phase, and the price) and created composite shirts reflecting the different ratios."
