i don’t usually drool over hardware on this blog but the new Leica cameras launched today look pretty nice to me, the M9 is the smallest full frame digital on the market and the new X1 has a nifty rounded pop-up flash… nice, the D-Lux has also been updated
i like this little project: spend hours carving a logo on the beach, then watch the tide destroy it… this wouldn’t look half as glamorous if it were shot on the north sea coast…
although this truck tyre that writes a poem on the beach (see below) is really a much nicer idea, (posted two years ago and spotted by my friend ‘pam’ in holland) you can see a better image and read the text here
here is yet another international design competition, this time organised in chinawith an interntional jury, it might have been a good idea to run a spell checker on the text for the website though… the deadline is october the 16th

rotterdam based designers 75B have just designed a new birthday stamp, where the sender can customise the numbers with a felt pen to make the required age… nice and simple idea, pretty um… weird colour seheme though
the ‘week of the greeting card’ stamp has also been released, this year designed by ‘studiomeiboom’, the ribbons and confetti feel very familiar to me… these are also some of the elements that i used in preliminary sketches (see ‘me stuff’) last year
