i am currently working on the latest ballet poster ‘concerto’ image by ‘ruud baan’, should be ready by the end of the week

i’ve just had another good look through the folio of still-life photographer guido mocafico and it was worth it

there is a lot of work which is very ‘irving penn-esque’ to me, but all of it is very well executed and the animated still presentation on his website is quite original…

these beautiful woven carpets, designed in ‘old chinese political propoganda poster’ style are part of an urban art project, they look great

yesterday i spent the day judging posters with, amongst others, belgian designer hugo puttaert who gave me a copy of a small art catalogue he’s just made using a mix of day-glo colours and glow in the dark ink, the cover message reads (approximately) like this: ‘culture, surely nobody is really interested in that?’ when exposed to sunlight and then read in the dark, it reads ‘aah dear, what really nobody?’ nice…

hugo is also one of the organisers behind the integrated 2009 event taking place in late october in antwerp, the line-up is pretty impressive and i’m defintiely be heading off to belgium… maybe see you there? as for the judging, the results are confidential until the awards evening on the 11th of november, the nominees should be announced very soon
