…during the Dutch Design Week 2009, (17-25 oct. the van abbemuseum presents ‘Take on me (take me on)’ a live-exhibition project…
It features four groups of ?artistic designers?, individuals or agencies whose ways of working fall outside the usual, conservative definitions of ?art? and ?design?.
Each group will create their own production line in one of the four corners of the original part of the museum and gradually extend their working process throughout the building.
The four groups on assignment are: Acclair, Conditional Design, Metahaven, and Orgacom.
conditional design (featuring amongst others ‘luna maurer’) are definitely worth checking out and the show also sounds interesting to me… maybe see you there, this weekend?

the art school in utrecht (HKU) organises a prize each year for the 5 most promising students from the final year, the exhibition is being held at the academie galerie with the winner being announced on october the 30th
the other nominees are for fine art, photgraphy & fashion… as part of the examination board we nominated student ‘rosa matthijssen’ for graphics this year ‘rosa’ was, with hindsight, definitely one of the most promising students from this year, i’ll post some links to her work in the coming few days…

…mostly though I took the opportunity to work on two things: composition and colour. I figured the subject matter would take care of itself and if I took things slowly a coherent set of images for each project might gradually evolve to tell their own story, and evoke a sense of place…
