made in frankfurt

‘gestalten’ had an unofficial exhibition of their own at the frankfurt book fair this year

China was the Guest of Honor at this year?s Frankfurt Book Fair and a wide-ranging program titled ?Tradition and Innovation? presented various aspects of Chinese culture and literature..

Because the topic was ignored in the official event schedule despite our efforts, Gestalten made an unofficial contribution and presented an exhibit that highlighted an area in which some Chinese publishers are particularly innovative: the piracy of books and copyrights.

to happier times and different houses

the man holding the sunscreen is sat in front of a blonde woman, apparently with her head turned to the side and the driver is shouting something aggressively in the direction of the photographer

these pictures are part of the documents that were submitted to the inquiry into princess diana’s mysterious death and can all be freely accessed here online in an incredible and somewhat morbid database of evidence decribing the last hours of her and dodi’s lives…

it’s funny how context can make pictures read differently… who for example is that dark shadowy figure stood next to the wrecked car in the lower picture? there is also a letter, amongst the evidence, in which diana tells her butler that prince charles intends to cause an ‘accident’ to happen… weird stuff
