visual artists

my friend & photographer ‘dominic davies’ has unfortunately recently moved back to london from amsterdam which means we’ll be seeing less of each other, the good news is that has joined agency visual artists and he’s in good company… (amongst others, david bailey, dan tobin-smith and marcel christ)

one family, four generations, two films, too many emotions

two interesting approaches to stop motion film: the first series from young graduate guy konigstein use cotton thread and dialogue very effectively

"Family Stories" is two stop motion films about family history and family relationships, in which the family members are represented by colourful thread spools. The spools roll through their lives, changing direction when they move away or back home, crossing life lines of others, joining them for a while and sometimes separating from each other again.

the second is for google’s new browser chrome, but the ‘touchy feely’ effect with the harp music (& player visible in the background) works less well for me when it’s put to use selling a commercial product in this way, somehow… (first link via ‘design.nl’ and the second via ‘FFF’)
