kassel, germany is not only the home to the fabulous ‘documenta’ art festival every few years but will be hosting the ‘photo book festival’ featuring many artists and guest speakers from the 13th to the 16th of may this year… sounds interesting

…(also known as a strip or streak photography) is a technique used to photograph fast moving subjects by moving the film during the exposure past a narrow slit. The image projected on the film does not reveal the subject completely at any instant like a normal camera, but instead progressively as an analogue sequence over time. The resulting images are temporal, showing a period of time at a point in space.

last night i met up with my ‘dutch design’ friends all the way from tokyo: ‘miho’, ‘naomi’ & some their expat friends in a great little japanese restaurant somewhere in amsterdam, as usual i received some cool japanese design stuff, like this wonderful magazine and as usual i have no idea what it says! thanks guys see you soon maybe next time in tokyo?
