this is a fascinating and also rather embarassing flickr set called similarities, well yes quite… there are some very well-known names in there too, and not just on the left-hand side… oops
hopefully this could serve as a warning to those ‘creatives’ who spend the whole day on ‘fffound’ looking for styles to copy
i have been editing some of the ‘making of’ images from my string typo illustration piece (see posts from 1-2 weeks ago) and will upload this and some other new projects to ‘me work’ later this week, here’s a few for starters… the process was definitely more fun than just the finished piece in this case…
i just found an interesting little typography film ‘alphabet’ (abeceda) made in 2000 and inspired by the celebrated book by czech collage artist ‘karel teige’ in the late 1920’s, nice…

this fascinating project in detroit has it’s own blog, where you can see plenty of images and read the whole background story, basically the idea was to freeze an entire (abandoned) house in a derelict neighbourhood of town to draw attention to the situation… the CR blog also has a short piece on the project
