the weather wouldn’t cooperate, typical iceland…

…so I saw all of these mediocre pictures of that volcano in Iceland nobody can pronounce the name of, so I figured I should go and do better. But the flights to get over took forever as expected (somewhat). 4 days after leaving I finally made it, but the weather was terrible for another 4. Just before leaving it got pretty good for about a day and a half and this is what I managed to get…

personally i find it a bit over-romantic (especially the plane shots) and very ‘music video’ style but still, it does look impressive

large and small

the latest ballet poster for ‘nijinsky’ hasn’t been printed yet (next week) but it’s already been published in some very different sizes, in a magazine smaller than A4 and more than 12 meters high hanging on city hall this week… i’m now looking forward to seeing at the actual size it was intended for

…Champion infographic nerd Carsten Nicolai dives into that place where patterns interfere with one another, or the moiré pattern, in his newest exhibition at New York’s Pace Gallery…

as publisher ‘gestalten’ prepare to launch a new book by the fabulous german artist carsten nicolai, i took the time to have a good look at his work and the available online publications, it sways somewhere between design, fine art, data-mapping and sensory experimentation, it all certainly looks beautiful, intriguing and very photogenic… time to see it for myself, i guess, one to watch for sure…
