if you’ve never visited the nasa earth observatory you should some time, this amazing image of greenland for example make it worth a visit…by the way since when have nasa had such a terrible logo? i remember a fantastic nasa logo when i was a kid… this one looks like it was designed by a scientist using powerpoint… absolutely horrible
several little bits of shiny plastic brought back from tokyo, a table and a low evening sun casting long shadows were recently combined to make these lovely little tabletop images by my girlfriend femke hulshof…

a smart little paperback book called ‘penguin by designers’ arrived by post this weekend, it’s a compact book printed in full-colour with a spot orange on mat paper and contains a well documented history of the various designers who created penguin in their own words, i’m very pleased with his one as it was not easy to get hold of…
added some work to ‘me work’ a housestyle i made last year for a fellow designer… i wil’ be adding more work that hasn’t yet been posted on the site when i can find a spare moment…
rummaging through my bookcase today i came across some inspiring work from the god-father of magazine design ‘alexey brodovitch’
particularly his work for ‘harpers bazar’ dating back to the late 40’s early 50’s still stands the test of time, in my opinion
interesting to see that a lot of his early sketches were much stronger than the final layouts (ultra violet) he was way ahead of his time in using double exposures and photo montages…
