i went to see a job on the press today at a printers i’ve never used or heard of before (always exciting and worrying) and after spending 2 hours in the car getting there, the first sheet i saw was perfect, that doesn’t often happen i promise… so 2 mins later i was back in the car for a long drive back, the work looks great and i never find trips like that a waste of time, not even for 2 minutes work…
last week i got hold of a copy (paste) of a really nice book called ‘neubau welt’ with lots of cool vector outline drawings, it’s the kind of book that you realise you’ll see people using all over the place after a while
…well it didn’t take long to spot the first one: the latest album by gabriel ananda ‘bambusbeats’ has a tree image straight out of the book (not even modified or incorporated with any other elements, the lower album cover which i also like very much (both design and music), looks like it also came from the book, but hasn’t… if you spot any ‘neubau welt-copy paste’ designs out there send them to me, i’m curious to see how many turn up…
fresh off the boat from china… it’s the first time i’ve seen silk screened gold that really looks gold not dirty brown, très chique…
at the voltt open air techno festival, good company, some nice tunes and enough sun for my mobile phone camera even to take some half decent pictures… (ok, i did say ‘half’ decent)
one last thing that needed modifying after i got some ridiculous new ‘mr magoo’ specs last week…
