the ‘dutch theater institute’ is exhibiting the ten posters nominated for this years poster design award in their garden (till end oct.) so i went and had a look today, the rain didn’t help but it all looked a bit amateurish i thought… dutch design magazine ‘vormberichten’ also wrote a short article about the awards in their latest edition, actually two articles: angry (not so) young man ‘joost overbeeke’ has written a column ranting about awards and how ridiculous he thinks they are (ok, maybe he has a point but there aren’t many designers who don’t crave recognition)

on the way to the exit i found another two of my posters hanging in the hall as part of a different exhibition on ‘capturing dance in photography’ by ‘joris-jan bos’ who i have also regularly worked with for the dutch national ballet

my mate alex ten apel has an exhibition in new york, with the water portrait series that i made a book for (see ‘me work’) till late november at the cook gallery, pop by if you get the chance or (even better) happen to live there…

‘the kyoto treaty of design’ everything’s gone green, it seems…
We ask all design firms, globally, to proactively engage in a dialogue about environmental impact with each and every client, and to evaluate sustainable alternatives in design.[/b]
