this funky little book arrived in the post today, nice little direct-mail piece about a new rights management organisation for artists image makers and designers called pictoright if you, like me, often forget about the rights to your work it could be worth looking into…

the book is full of empty placeholders with footnotes describing famous images and designs that are supposed to be in the empty squres… the tagline ‘without permission publishers can’t fill their image boxes’ neatly ties up the message, ironically they forgot to credit the makers! if my google search is correct the ‘designpolitie’ are responsible for this nice little project… made me look anyway

good to see that there are still plenty of people who are daft enough to do this

i’ve been asked to do a talk at a seminar about communication and design for the dance sector in the hague in late march… the public will consist largely of the kind of people who are usually my clients (marketing managers and publicity people) so it should be interesting to talk to them in general terms about the way we perceive each other’s profession…

great, ‘mister sagmeister incorporated’ has a new book being published… looking forward to that one…
