whenever you visit photographer bart oomes he’s usually locked away in his dark little studio, dissecting flies or boiling eggs, like some mad professor to make beautiful stills like these…


it was just about the hottest day of the year yesterday and i spent it in a warm photo studio with ‘ruud baan’ yet again, this time shooting ‘the nutcracker’ a costume ballet with children and lots of fantasy images, we will be making the image by taking the photos and cutting them out to make a sort of fantasy collage, should look great this one…

the dancers were ‘juanjo arqués’ from spain, ‘ji-young kim’ from korea and ‘tamás nagy’ from hungaria, plus two little children ‘dimitri’ and ‘kim’

this is unusual: face swapping technology to protect your privacy and also make you look a little bit trans-gender…

i was back in the studio with ‘ruud baan’ today shooting the ‘four temperaments’, which will end up being four separate posters, we got into a bit of a ‘velvet underground meets man ray’ trip with coloured gels, solarised effects and lava lamp shapes, which looked great…
