this funky little flyer for the ‘lost & found’ art lectures (in amsterdam) arrived yesterday, it’s a poster-sized sheet with lots of fuzzy and ‘broken’ type, the enclosed plastic film with lines can be used to move over the sheet and create some very nice ‘kinetic’ type

somebody spent a lot of time and effort making this and it was worth it…
i rarely miss a day on the blog, but things have been very hectic this week, my regular work has been sharing time & space with a lot of ‘side projects’ lately, putting a whole magazine together with a small team for ‘adformatie’ (writing articles, shooting images, making illustrations and designing and compiling the whole thing)

plus a pretty frustrating day in eindhoven doing the jury for the ‘dutch design awards’ (let’s just say it was hard work…) and preparing some stuff for the ‘theater poster awards’ next month… hopefully i’ll have more time this week for the blog, but i could be wrong…
i’m doing the selection for the dda in sunny eindhoven tomorrow, for urgent stuff you can reach me on the mobile, back behind the mac on friday…

here’s a sneak preview of one of the articles i’m working on for adformatie, the story is about consumers and whether they believe in the internet hype, new media, web 2.0 etc… i decided to ask consumers to make the pictures, to be precise the mothers of several well-known dutch photographers, i asked them to make pictures on the theme of ‘things used to be better in the old days’ and gave them each a disposable camera, the results are surprising…

the image above was made by mrs. corbijn (mother of anton and maarten, both photographers) and the whole series can be seen in the adformatie due out on september the 18th
