lego holocaust

following my post about the ‘lego bible’ this week, a regular ‘me blog’ visitor ‘agata leszczynska’ from poland, pointed me to this rather lugubre variation: the lego concentration camp, the bible was already pretty weird but this one…

adformatie ‘the essence’ (part 2)

here are some further images of the magazine i recently made together with a few other creatives for ‘adformatie’ the first article was an experiment in getting people to draw well-known logos from memory, the test being whether professionals would fare better than ‘joe public’ when it comes to reproducing logos, it was very interesting to do and in general most people were actually quite well informed on what the logos look like

some noticeable patterns did emerge during the test: women seemed to have a lot of difficulty reproducing technical logos such as car brands (mercedes, opel etc) and virtually everybody drew the apple logo back to front (the ‘bite’ facing to the left instead of right) which was puzzling (i also did it myself actually, even though i spend the whole day looking at it…) i wonder why? brands such as ‘vodafone’ fared very badly, with just about everyone guessing wildly, which to me proved my assumption that it is a very weak brand with nothing to make it memorable in the mind…

and i finally got to use my ‘pokerface’ font in an article about creatives taking the gamble and saying ‘no’ to a difficult client…

custom artwork

here’s a simple innovative idea i haven’t seen before that makes use of the album artwork window in itunes: squarepusher’s mad new release ‘just a souvenir’ has different variations of the cover art for each track

cut’n’paste

i’ve been making sketches a book cover design this afternoon, using a scalpel and freeform letters cut out of ‘jesus’ images today, the book is a novel with a twist about the ‘passion of christ’ i ‘m sure i’ll regret sharing ideas that are still in sketch form one day…

incidentally: apologies if you couldn’t load this site in the past 24 hours ‘me studio’ was offline for some reason… all sorted now
