one of the ‘creative network’ sites i regularily visit (and also contribute to) is ‘behance’, you more often than not see a lot of poorly executed or copied ideas but these two caught my eye today: a business card that made me smile and some illustration about the global financial crisis that have a definitely un-crisis like feel about them…
using gaffer tape for corporate identities is one of those ideas that seems to be very ‘in vogue’ right now, i came across this really nice example today, dating back from the early eighties, used for the housestyle of ‘factory records’, what goes around comes around…
the amsterdam based glossy magazine ‘n.a.p.’ has organised a photo series together with the dutch photographers association panl
the first page of each issue will feature a picture by a ‘panl’ memeber based on a certain theme, the first one is ‘amsterdam & night’ for details visit their website but be quick the deadline is in two days time… (dutch only)
for those who aren’t familiar with dutch chain store V&D, they have a knack for doing what everyone else does but then a lot worse, they redesigned their logo recently and in this case screwed the old one off a store front (in haarlem) and screwed the new one, literally on top, that’s one giant step backwards (well maybe two or three)…
the opening of lukas göbel’s photo exhibition ‘return to pakantan’ on sunday morning started with an unexpected visit to a church service in the local baptist ministry… i think that’s the first time i’ve been in a church on sunday in about 35 years!
the large format photos have been hung (together with the original black & white images by johan thiessen from 1908) in a spacious split-level hallway in the church and they are definitely worth a trip to haarlem to see, well done mate, great work…
