two noteworthy poster campaigns i saw in town this week: the top one is for the city council of amsterdam and is the first decent use i have seen of the (fairly unimaginative ) corporate identity for amsterdam, the crosses from the identity have been used to good effect in this series aimed at talking about ‘discrimination in the workplace’
the one shown above caused some controversy when it was forcibly removed from poster sites all over town on thursday because it was deemed (unbelievably) to be indecent, the heading on the poster (for an internet provider offering cheap wireless broadband) reads: ‘porno on public transport’… that’s indecent? ok, it’s not very clever but indecent? what’s happening to amsterdam? i guess the ‘poster puritans’ must have forgotten the one i photographed…
