if you aren’t familiar with his name, but are interested in what these days is called ‘motion graphics’ then you may be interested in discovering the work of german abstract painter and animator oskar fischinger who made some amazing ‘motion graphics’ as early as the 1920’s, his work is pretty difficult to find online, although this japanese site contains a few examples, you tube has an interesting ‘homage’ made in the 1950’s and there is a DVD available online
