the book about (partially blind) designer ‘bas oudt’ which i posted about a few weeks back was released this week, featuring the work of a large group of ex-students and employees who all still feel indebted to their former teacher, it has been divided up into various sections using a beautiful array of pantone colours all overprinted on different types of stock and each designed by one of the contributors (harmen liemburg, niessen & de vries, ron faas from dietwee etc. etc.)

the book is not yet even mentioned on the publisher’s own website although i’m told the initial print run was very small so be quick if you want one…

i came across this amusing image at the ‘naarden fotofestival’ today: one of the staff (an elderly lady) at the exhibition hall was less than pleased with the festival logo on her t-shirt (depicting a man with his legs open in a sitting position) so she had actually made it more ‘decent’ and sewn a little skirt on top of it to hide the open legs… wow

my little secret is out thanks to anne from ‘studio dumbar’… by the way cheers for the compliment, i do feed them regularly, honest…

if you are into the better quality german techno (like berlin-based b pitch for example), there is a good chance you will have already come across the design work of german collective pfadfinderei (go on try and figure out how to pronounce it, it means ‘scouting’ in german by the way)

they work almost exclusively for the music industry and have a nice combination of illustrative, graphic and motion design work, the image of the girl for ‘moderat’ shown below is one of their latest pieces…
