strength in inconsistency

my good friend ‘andré thijssen’ recommended this publication ‘amc2’ in the correct assumption that it would appeal to me

the archive of modern conflict is a british publication which concerns itself with curating the vernacular, although i have yet to hold a copy in my hands what i find appealing about these kinds of publications is that seemingly random imagery can often accumulate new and unexpected/unintended meaning when combined in a new way, as one comment on the website puts it neatly: …there is strength in inconsistency…

the magazine has been released (at irregular intervals) four times so far and short extracts can be viewed online, the subject matter and perhaps even the name somehow reminded me of the instititute for concrete matter here in the netherlands

a pocket companion to the simpsons

…from simply ‘appointments’ and ‘photos’ books to ‘so you’ve decided to steal cable’, ‘the joy of sax’, or the ‘flanders bible’…

i have just ordered a copy of this wonderful little yellow book about books that feature in the simpsons

designed by book designer ‘olivier lebrun’ (mentioned three posts previously)… see also another simpsons related project on film references
